Portsmouth Appoints a new Poet Laureate

In a close competition, PCC, Book Fest and Portsmouth Poetry appointed Pompey Punk Poet Jackson Davies to serve as the city’s official poet. Jackson will be bringing new work and exciting community projects

And, for the first time a Young Poet Laureate

Portsmouth Poetry was commissioned to appoint a young person (under 17) to act as young poet laureate for a year. The winner from a field of talented young people will be announced in an event on National Poetry Day October 1st

One Hundred Poems for Portsmouth

As part of the Portsmouth 100 celebration of the centenary of our becoming a city Portsmouth City Council commissioned Portsmouth Poetry to publish a book of 100 poems written by local schoolchildren. One Hundred Poems for Portsmouth will be published later this year.
